Spring has sprung, and Monstie has been busy making new friends from coast to coast. From SoCal to sunny Florida, the Inbox Monster team recently completed a whirlwind tour of some of the best email marketing conferences.

Whether you weren’t able to attend or are just looking to relive the magic, here’s what we learned from chatting with hundreds of email geeks.

4 Lessons for Anyone Looking to Win the Inbox This Year

1. We’ve entered the age of intentional orchestration

It makes sense that Email Insider Summit 2026 in Key Largo, Florida, was all about moving away from mass automation and toward one-to-one conversations. The energy was high at the Ocean Reef Club as email marketers discussed how to stand out among the noise.

Leading brands are touting the importance of “little i” loyalty: Rather than focusing on an over-manufactured points system, they’re using email to provide genuine value and emotional connection, not just another coupon code.

The key to sending messages that actually engage users is through capturing real-time insights. By leveraging both structured data and high-value behavioral signals, emails can grab attention beyond catchy subject lines.

2. The yellow brick road leads to better customer experiences

Adobe Summit surpassed expectations this year in Las Vegas. Between the inspiring Wizard of Oz theme and the puppy activation in the expo hall, it was impossible not to leave energized. At this event, it was clear that the magic of marketing in 2026 is about blending high-tech with a high-touch human experience.

The future of marketing automation is becoming more agentic than ever, as manual campaign building evolves into AI-driven journey orchestration. These journey agents are more than simple chatbots. They’re monitoring live messaging flows, alerting teams to anomalies and simulating pre-flight tests before you hit send.

To realize the vision of agentic commerce, brands of all sizes must continue to unify their customer data across systems and platforms. Best-in-class customer experiences may not be created in the land of Oz, but businesses can navigate a golden path to them by harnessing the power of real-time personalization.

3. Epic email takes a village

When it comes to email events, nothing beats the unbridled joy and support shown by the community at Unspam, hosted by the team at Really Good Emails. Our friend Justine Jordan put it best: “Is it the best corporate retreat ever? A magical bonding experience? The early stages of forming a cult? Yes.”

RGE has the full recap, but if we had to highlight the bite-sized brilliance that stood out the most to us, it would be these takeaways:

  • Cyril Gross from mailix reframed accessibility as not just an act of virtue, but a necessity if you want your emails to be seen in an AI-first world.
  • Ethan Norville from American Kennel Club proved why hero sections are an often overlooked, yet critical component of email testing, stating, “Small hinges often swing big doors.”
  • Cher Fuller from Vuori showed us that sometimes the most humane, brand-building move is to send nothing at all.

Overall, Unspam always provides fresh perspectives on the work of email teams everywhere. We’re already looking forward to next year.

4. Test while you build for faster results

Iterable took a big step forward this year, from moving Activate Summit to Los Angeles for the first time to unveiling a whole new brand. Whoever led their new look really knows how to make a powerful impression (which may or may not have been designed by the talented brother of a monster).

Innovation and creativity were at the forefront of Activate, bringing together brand leaders from Disney, Fabletics, Shake Shack, Strava, Liquid Death and more. One of the big questions posed at the event was how to move past one-off marketing campaigns and think of growth as a system. And a successful system is an efficient one.

To help streamline that growth system, we gave a ten-minute lightning talk about how to cut your QA time in half by testing as you build marketing messages. Obviously, the right tools make a difference, so if you haven’t heard of our Chrome Extension for creative rendering, you’re definitely missing out.

Catch Monstie at an Email Marketing Conference Near You

Event season isn’t over yet. We’ve still got many more email marketing conferences coming up this year, including Inbox Expo in Atlanta, Movable Ink’s Think Summit in NYC and eTail in Boston.

We’re even hosting a welcome party at Salesforce Connections on June 2, featuring a river cruise and architectural tour of Chicago. The party is free, but spots are limited, so sign up and reserve your spot.

Word on the street is that we’ve got brand-new Monstie swag coming your way at these events. Who knows—maybe they’ll be rare collector’s items one day. Until then, we’re excited to chat about everything email with you all.
